Megan Baker House has launched a fundraising appeal after warning that a shortage of grant income has placed its services under serious financial pressure.
The charity provides conductive education for children and adults with neurological movement disorders. Its work supports people with conditions including cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, stroke, acquired brain injury and developmental coordination disorder.
Eight years of support in Bromsgrove
Megan Baker House has delivered services in Bromsgrove for more than eight years. The local sessions were initially based at the Life After Stroke Centre before moving to Newsong Community Church, which provides space to store equipment and has continued to support the charity.
The charity says a series of unsuccessful grant applications, including one that took 14 months to reach a decision, has put its cash flow under pressure.
Clients contribute towards the cost of sessions and those payments have recently increased by up to 40 per cent. Megan Baker House says families experiencing financial difficulty can still attend without charge.
Appeal target set for December
The organisation says it needs at least £75,000 in additional income by 31 December 2026 so it can continue delivering its services.
