Young people aged 16 to 24 in Bromsgrove and Redditch are being invited to apply for roles as Creative Producers as part of the Sharing Stories, Shaping Futures programme.

ReNEW is recruiting participants to work alongside three arts organisations: Trigger (Performing Arts), Overhear (Digital Arts), and INSTAR (Visual Arts). Creative Producers will influence creative projects and help ensure young people's voices are represented in cultural activities across the area.

What the role offers

Participants will gain valuable experience working directly with experienced arts professionals in a supportive environment. The programme aims to help young people develop leadership and decision-making skills, connect with like-minded people, and build confidence for future education, employment and volunteering opportunities.

Creative Producers will gain first-hand insight into how creative projects are developed and delivered. They will help shape arts activities that celebrate local areas, engage with communities and their stories, and strengthen pride of place.

One current Creative Producer, Lauren, said: "I chose to become a creative producer because I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to learn from professionals in the performing arts and gain experience behind the scenes, as I hope to become a theatre director and writer in the future. I think my favourite aspect of this project is that it's by and for the people of Bromsgrove and Redditch; it shows that actually I don't need to live in Birmingham or London in order to get creative opportunities."

Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Shirley Webb, said: "We want to empower young people to share their ideas, build connections and help shape the future of creative activity in their area. Through the support of arts professionals and organisations, participants have the fantastic opportunity to gain new experiences, develop their confidence, and make a real difference to cultural life across Bromsgrove."
